Show notes - Episode 459: Forgive Me, I'm A Winner

Morning, friends!

Another year [almost] done - we made it! This week we've got life updates, music from new friends, fan mail, and more. Let's get to it!

Pat plays music from Calling All Captains (5:58), then rambles on moving the studio (11:28), loan forgiveness (22:00), and work awards (31:25). Plus: setting up consoles (40:37), overrated fast foods (59:57), and the New Year (1:10:45).

Many thanks to our new friends for the tune! Go check them out and tell em Pat sent you (but maybe don't tell them about the mouth riff?)!

Back in the garage

I am so glad to be back in the actual studio. And since my smokin hot wife suggested moving my desk from where it was before, I have so much more space. This is awesome. And the show should sound better. Everyone wins!

Loan forgiveness

Man, I can't believe this is real. I keep checking my account just to make sure it's not a bit. But every time it shows $0 for every item and that my account is in good standing. I sincerely hope everyone who owes student loans can have this happen to them. You all deserve to feel this sense of relief.

Work awards

In a different way, I can't believe this is real either. That I can get so much of my work done while doing show things and dad stuff that I not only avoid reprimand but get rewarded? Insane. What is everyone else doing that they can't get their tasks completed?

Setting up consoles

I didn't pick a side at first, but now I've decided: This is about knowing your kid. If they wouldn't mind waiting and watching the setup? Let them do it. If they would? Take some time beforehand to run through the things. Easy!

Mail: Overrated fast food

Thank you for the question - I hope I actually answered it. The Big Mac, Shamrock Shake, and Taco Bell potatoes aren't it for me. What say you? (The McRib is gross. Don't eat it.)

The New Year

I originally was going to just warn you about amateur night, but then I decided to get a little real and I think it went well. If your only "thing" this year was getting through it? That is okay and I am proud of you. You're the best. But really: be careful on New Year's Eve.

🎉

And that, as we say, is that! This year has been wild and I am so glad you joined me for any part of it. I will try my best to keep this rolling next year, and I will always take suggestions for how to make it better. So leave a comment (or don't) and go have fun. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
