Cheltenham Town went down 1-0 at Burton Albion after a 77th minute goal from Victor Adeboyejo.
Adeboyejo finished at the near post after a low cross from ex-Robins loanee Jonny Smith.
The home side saw a penalty brilliantly saved by Luke Southwood just before half-time.
The Reading loan goalkeeper flew to his left to keep out Davis Keillor-Dunn's spot kick after a foul by Ryan Broom on Keillor-Dunn in the box.
Southwood made an outstanding save to deny Smith in the final seconds, but by that time Burton had the lead and they rarely looking like surrendering it at the Pirelli Stadium and the travelling fans made their frustrations very clear after the final whistle.
The Robins' decade-long wait for a win over Burton continues and they are left 20th in the table, two points outside the relegation zone.
Wade Elliott's side are at home to Morecambe on Tuesday night.
