Now, before I get to tell you about the week our girls had, go put this on in the background.

Féile, you got me on my knees, Féile.

Well, our U14 girls have brought home the first girls Féile trophy ever won for the club! What a weekend. It started out in 12th lock against local rivals Na Fianna, with the game ending in a draw 1-04 to 2-01.Game 2 saw a 1 point win over Garristown (2-07 to 2-06) and their third group grame was a comprehensive win over Lucan Sarsfields (2-06 to 1-01), setting them up for a semi-final encounter, a short trip away over in Somerton Park. They won this well (2-07 to 2-03) which meant they had a repeat game against Na Fianna for the Division 2 final the following day out in Fingallians. At half time we were 2 points down, but the girls dug deep, producing a 1-05 to 1-01 win. a big CONGRATULATIONS to the girls, and their mentors, David Dunne, Ciaran Dunne and Pat Preston.

If you think that's good, you'd wanna see the U16s

Let me tell you about the U16 Girls.  Last Friday saw them run out Division 2 league winners on a record of 8 wins and 0 defeats. Not ones to rest on their laurels, they also took the Camogie Division 2 league title on the same record (8-0) on Monday.
This team was a coming together of U15 and U16 squads; to see what they achieved in 5 months together is amazing. Bear in mind that the boys get to alternate their weekends; a luxury nor afforded to the girls.
Well done girls! Your an example of what hard work and commitment can achieve, and a model for our values at St Vincents! Credit also to the mentors Ger Griffin, Robbie Lambe,  Kieran O Neil, Tom O Gorman

And also, the grown ups!

Success is contagious! The Senior 1 Camogie team took the Divsion 1 league on Tuesday! This was a nailbiter that went right to the wire. Our girls went into the league final on a record of 8 wins from 8, against Na Fianna who had an identical record. In the early part of the game Na Fianna had a 5 point lead, but the girls remained undeterred, reducing the deficit to just 3 at the break. An early goal in the second half steadied us, and from then on it was nip and tuck for the rest of the game. We ended up taking it by the narrowest of margins (2-9 to 0-14). Fantastic! Congratulations to the team and management, and thanks to the great support that came down.
