This year's Walsh Ride Against Cancer has taken on a new meaning as our father, John Walsh, passed away on Saturday, June 11 after a long battle with cancer.  When we started this ride 5 years ago it was in memory of our mother, Margie Walsh, who was taken too soon after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

We will be riding to celebrate their lives in the hopes of bringing people together to honor them and the lives of others who are fighting, have fought, or have had their lives cut short by this terrible disease.

We chose Father’s Day weekend because it is the weekend we always spent camping together as a family. Our parents valued this time with their family and close friends.

This year, we are celebrating our 5th Annual Walsh Ride Against Cancer.  This is an opportunity for friends, family and bike enthusiasts to gather together in honor of those who have been impacted by cancer. There is no registration fee, however donations are greatly appreciated as all donations we receive will benefit the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives and to lead the fight for a world without cancer. All are welcome and can ride at their own pace. We will be making stops at local establishments in the communities listed below where riders can grab a drink and snack/lunch along the way at their leisure.

SATURDAY, JUNE 18, 2022
ROUTE DETAILS:
Starting Point: 9:00AM - Triangle Park, Waukee
9:20AM - Group photo

Stops along the way:
Dallas Center, Minburn, Perry, Dawson, Jamaica, and Cooper

This year alone, more than 600,000 Americans will die of cancer. That’s more than 1,600 people per day in the United States. That’s why, with our 1.5 million supporters, we are taking action.  The money we raise through this fundraiser will help fund and provide the critical programs and services that people count on every day.

Thank you for your support! Together we can make a difference.
