The Wii U SD Card Setup Tool, is a python based tool that streamlines the process of homebrewing a Wii U console. This tool does not tell you how to jailbreak your Wii U, a guide on how to do that can be found HERE.

When you first run the program you will be greeted with a screen that asks you to input the path of you SD card

to specify the path of you sd card drag the sd card from your file manager into the terminal/command prompt window. you should see something like this:

'/Volumes/HACK'

(NOTE this is what it would look like on Mac OS, but it should look similar to this on other operating systems)

There are 4 main functions of this tool.

When you run the program (assuming youve already ran it once) it should look something like this:

The base file downloader downloads all the base files needed for jailbreaking the console. It downloads the Aroma Environment which is a homebrew environment for the Wii U made by Maschell. It downloads the Homebrew Appstore which is an open source appstore made by the For the Users Homebrew group. It downloads all the Aroma packages that are needed for jailbreaking the console.

The Wii U Homebrew app downloader downloads Wii U Homebrew apps from the For the Users appstore api you can select multiple apps from the store and download them directly to your SD card, it will also tell the Homebrew Appstore app on your Wii U what apps you have downloaded/updated.

The vWii Mod File Downloader downloads all the apps/tools needed for you to Homebrew the Virtual Wii.

The vWii Homebrew App Downloader downloads Wii Homebrew apps from the Open Shop Channel shop api you can select multiple apps from the shop and download them directly to your sd card.

NOTE This option will not reformat an SD card to FAT32 you need to do that yourself. This option just removes all the files on the SD card It will not reformat the SD card as stated above.

This option allows you to change what SD card the tool will download/copy files to.
