Man of the match: Henry Nicholls for his fantastic 82 runs to revive the Kiwi innings

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 210 in 46 Overs | BATTING: Wahab Riaz 5(7): Trent Boult has single handedly accounted for all the four final wickets. He bowled some fantastic yorkers to the tailenders and there were a few short balls in there as well for variety. He got his final two wickets bowled. It’s a comprehensive victory for the New Zealanders by 70 runs! OUT! Mohammad Aamer 0(5) b Boult, Mohammad Irfan 0(3) b Boult

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 206/8 in  44 Overs | BATTING: Wahab Riaz 1(1), Mohammad Aamer 0(2): The World No. 1 ODI bowler Trent Boult is showing why he happens to be worthy of the position. In the 44th over he’s removed both Sarfraz Ahmed and Anwar Ali to almost seal Pakistan’s fate. New Zealand are two wickets away from victory now. OUT! Sarfraz Ahmed 30(29) c Anderson b Boult, Anwar Ali 16(22) c Latham b Boult

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 171/6 in  38 Overs | BATTING: Sarfraz Ahmed 13(15), Anwar Ali 1(2): This is close to over for Pakistan, the only recognised batsman now is Sarfraz Ahmed and he has no support at the other end. Imad Wasim was dismissed by Mitchell Santner by nicking one down leg. Luke Ronchi took a very smart catch down the leg side, good work but bad shot. Asking rate over nine runs now. OUT! Imad Wasim 1(4) c Ronchi b Santner

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 170/5 in  37 Overs | BATTING: Sarfraz Ahmed 13(15), Imad Wasim 1(1): Anderson’s hit the deck, back-of-a-length, accurate bowling and climbing asking rate gets the better of Babar Azam as he holes out one such delivery to deep midwicket. It was a fine innings by him, but things looking hopeless for the visitors now and this with New Zealand without one of their main bowlers. OUT! Babar Azam 62(76) c Nicholls b Anderson

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 144/4 in  33 Overs | BATTING: Babar Azam 51(64), Sarfraz Ahmed 1(4): This is fantastic by Grant Elliott, he’s been bowling a nagging line outside off on a good to full length with generous swing and from no where he produces a rippling bouncer to get Sohaib Maqsood holing out in the deep on the evasive pull shot without eyes on the ball. That’s his third wicket after getting Azhar Ali and Ahmed Shehzad earlier. OUT! Sohaib Maqsood 10(16) c Milne b Elliott

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK 118/3 in  27 Overs | BATTING: Babar Azam 26(29), Sohaib Maqsood 0(3): Kane Williamson finds his ways to make an impact in a game. he may not have scored with the bat, but has made a huge breakthrough with the ball having dismissed Mohammad Hafeez for 42 to break a threatening stand between him and Babar Azam. Hafeez mistimes the attempted big hit to the man at long on. OUT! Mohammad Hafeez 42(56) c Henry b Williamson

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK  83/2 in  20 Overs | BATTING: Mohammad Hafeez 20(33), Babar Azam 26(29): Things starting to look a little better for the Pakistanis now. LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK  48/2 in  14 Overs | BATTING: Mohammad Hafeez 9(19), Babar Azam 3(7): It’s going great guns for the Kiwis at the moment. The guileful old Grant Elliott is at his best. After removing Azhar Ali, he also got rid of Ahmed Shehzad. His lack of pace and cutters have foxed both Pakistan openers. Corey Anderson is also bowling very well, getting the ball to come into the right handers. OUT! Ahmed Shehzad 13(23) c Williamson b Elliott

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK  33/1 in  8.4 Overs. BATTING: Ahmed Shehzad 8(19) , Mohammad Hafeez 0(0): Azhar Ali after starting of well , has given his wicket away in a bid to score big. He was dismissed by a Grant Elliott off-cutter. OUT! Azhar Ali 19(35) c Henry b Elliott

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK  17/0 in 5 Overs. BATTING: Ahmed Shehzad 8(19) ,Azhar Ali7(12): Last Matt Henry was an expensive one, Azhar Ali his is first four of the innings. Azhar Ali has taken his time to get off the mark batting about 2 overs before getting a single off Trent Boult. Ahmed  Shehzad has looked more compact and positive, trying to rotate strike.Matt Henry and Boult has kept it right on the mark, not giving an inch away to the batsmen to open themselves.

UPDATE ON Mitchell McClenaghan

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: PAK  1/0 in 1 Over. BATTING: Ahmed Shehzad 0(0) ,Azhar Ali 0(6): Pakistan openers will look to give their team a steady start. Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali will look to keep wickets in hand, as the lower middle order is a bit inexperienced. New Zealand on the other side to look to pick up wickets early on before batting become more easy later on. Matt Henry after batting well started off with a maiden over.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: NZ 109/6 in 25 Overs. BATTING: Henry Nicholls 39 (57), Mitchell Santner 9 (16) — New Zealand batsmen now aim to bat on at least for the remaining overs and make sure thay have enough runs on the board to defend as the bowlers would have the grave task of restricting them to a low total, with the match more or less poised to be a low-scoring enocunter.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: NZ 100/6 in 23 Overs. BATTING: Henry Nicholls 39 (57), Mitchell Santner 1 (4) — GONE!!!! Ronchi too doesn’t last long as he departs for mere five off seven deliveries after being caught behind off Mohammad Aamer again. Williamson is the latest casualty as he is bowled by Anwar Ali after he played on to his stumps. OUT! Kane Williamson b Anwar Ali 11 (17), Grant Elliott b Anwar Ali 0 (2)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: NZ 68/2 in 15 Overs. BATTING: Kane Williamson 9 (15), Henry Nicholls 31 (43) — 50 up for the Kiwis as no harm is done to their batting order following the twin quick fall of the opening wickets in the form of the openers as Williamson and Nicholls look to settle down and ocassionally go for the boundaries.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: NZ 45/2 in 10 Overs. BATTING: Kane Williamson 5 (7), Henry Nicholls 15 (21) — DROPPED!!!! Nicholls earns a lifeline as he is dropped on 15 by Mohammad Hafeez at the first slip off Anwar Ali. Nevertheless, a shaky start by the Kiwi batsmen as the Pakistan bowlers continue to dominate so far in the game.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: NZ 25/2 in 6 Overs. BATTING: Kane Williamson 0 (0), Henry Nicholls 0 (4) — GONE!!!! Tom Latham is the next man as he is given caught behind off Mohammad Aamer. New Zealand have made changes on their side with Ross Taylor ruled out for ODIs against Pakistan and Australia, while he might make a come back in the Test matches against Australia. The good news is Brendon McCullum is likely to make a comeback in third ODI against Pakistan. Luke Ronchi will be replaced by BJ Watling as wicket-keeper. Mitch Santner remains the only spinner for New Zealand while Colin Munro who score two half-centuries in T20Is has been added to ODI squad. Pakistan on the other hand has transferred captaincy responsibilities to Azhar Ali from Shahid Afridi. Shahid Afridi has shown exceptional talent in 1st T20I but it depleted and so did the fielding of visitors in further matches. Pakistan will want to win the first match and try to lead in the series after a humiliating loss in three match T20Is series.

Squads:

New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Tom Latham (first two ODIs), Brendon McCullum (third ODI), Kane Williamson, Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi (first ODI), BJ Watling (second and third ODIs), Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Trent Boult, Mitchell McClenaghan.
