Liam, of Aberdeen, vanished on November 17 after boarding a bus in the city that was headed for Banchory.
But people who claim to have a spiritual insight have told Alix the 6ft 4in schoolboy is camped out in a field.
Several have also offered to travel to Crathes Estate, Aberdeenshire, where he was last seen.
Alix confirmed: “I have been given information from a few that is being checked out. We are open to anything that may help.”
Officers have received more than 200 reported sightings of Liam since his disappearance.
The source added: “Mediums have said they are sure Liam is out in the country somewhere or in a field.
“But the area that officers are looking in is full of fields.”
CCTV footage of the lad’s final movements showed Liam stocking up on supplies in Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping mall.
Soon afterwards, he boarded the Stagecoach No 202 service.
A passenger claimed he got off in Crathes, and he was spotted later that day in nearby woods.
Cops have described the area they’re searching for him as “vast” and “challenging”.
Scotland boss Alex McLeish recorded a video appeal after the youngster went missing.
He said: “Liam, if you are watching this message, please come home. Your family are very anxious to see you returning.”
Mountain rescue teams, dive crews and search dogs have all been drafted in to search for the teen.
