This book is MESS.
The blurb is confusing.
The story is confusing.
Even my review is confusing.

The H is like a brother to the h, as he was taken by her father when he was young. But they end up loving each other a little too much. They fuck all the time. He is very crazy for her.
But when the om (approved by her father) proposes her, she accepts it. Okay I understand that maybe she has no other option than to accept the ring but why would SHE initiate the sex and fuck him BRAZENLY ?

And the H’s reaction...

“I don’t care if you have ten husbands. I’ll always find you. I’ll fuck you in their beds. I’ll make you mine over and over again. You know this.”

And it was not the first time the om and the h had sex. She had already done that with him before.
Oh....okay!!
The h was clearly enjoying two candies.
She even marries the om.
And the H?
Well...

“He was a sneaky kiss in my bed, a dirty fuck in my closet. He was a craving, a guilty pleasure, but he was never supposed to be my forever.”

Yes, you clearly want the money babes.
But why give false hope to the guy then. Why play with his feelings?

Still the H comes to meet her at her wedding day to give an ultimatum not before fucking her BRAZENLY. She of course doesn’t agree and he leaves her. She marries the om. Then she tells the om to FUCK HER BRAZENLY.
My goodness!!!!!! This woman is a sex addict horny creature.

So one year goes by.
The h is enjoying her super luxurious married life. She is happy. Only missing the H because he used to fuck her BRAZENLY. But it’s fine. She has money.

And then the H suddenly appears out of nowhere. Also he is rich now.
He comes meet the h at her house , they start talking with each other in front of the om, who is now her husband. She looks and act like a desperate housewife in front of the H to the point that even the om says...

“You’re being overly welcoming to Mr. Heath. Perhaps give him some space to breathe.”

Yeh. Your idiot desperate wife is going all over the guy and thats all you have to say.
Also when the H exits from there, he fingerfucks the om’s desperate sister (the h’s sister-in-law).
Then the h comes fuming to the H because she thinks he fucked her sister-in-law. He then tells the h to suck his d*ck? She does it BRAZENLY. Then he tells her to get out. The h then goes fuming to her sister in law because she tried to lure her fuckboy. Then om shouts at her angrily and slaps her as she was causing a scene. And the h’s reply..

“While I love to be slapped, I prefer it to be on my ass as Heath is fucking me from behind. But you wouldn’t know anything about that since the only position you’re familiar with is missionary.”

I’m done.

Heath by K Webster and Nikki Ash was one of my most anticipated reads of fall, and it did not disappoint!! When I put it on my tbr, the only thing I knew about the book was that it was a retelling of a classic tale. It wasn't until later that I put together that the aforementioned tale was Wuthering Heights.
tumblr_nahlvbxysm1sk0xezo1_400

My discovery only made me even more excited, because that's a book I've always wanted to read. Everything I had ever heard about it intrigued me. All consuming, passionate, and destructive! Love, obsession, revenge, and tragedy! Count me in! I tried to pick it up as a child, but I wasn't ready for it. After reading this version, I'm more determined then ever to cross it off my list!

der

I've been thinking a lot about what I should mention about the plot, and I've come to the conclusion that I can't say much. This is a book that truly needs to be read and felt without any ideas about what will or should happen running through your head. I had no idea the direction this story would take, and I'm so glad I didn't! I was shocked! It flipped my idea about how the story would end on it's head. This book is completely different from anything I've read to date, and that's what I loved most about it!

FlakyJaggedFluke-size_restricted

Heath is a complicated, tragic, and an unconventional story of multiple generations of relationships between two families. Since this isn't the story of just one set of characters, there is basically two endings. One is happy, and the other is heartbreaking and bittersweet.

ser-1

Now let's talk about the characters! They're complex and memorable to the point where I'm certain even years down the line, I'll remember them and still have conflicting feelings when I do. Infuriating and charming, shallow and deep, selfish and selfless, hateful and loving, passionate and cold, they are forever etched into my heart!
weert

Overall, I enjoyed the hell out of this book! It's definitely one of my top reads of the year! My expectations were met and exceeded. K Webster and Nikki Ash did a phenomenal job with this collaboration. Their writing was seamless, and they managed to keep me completely captivated the whole way through. In fact, I read the entire book in one night. I tried to put it down, but I just wound up picking it right back up.

tumblr_nbzd2iaUYC1r4ueyro1_500

I won't lie to you. This is a story that will have your emotions all over the place, but that's part of it's beauty. When it ended, I noticed I was holding my hand over my heart. That says everything you need to know about it right there. It will make you FEEL, and isn't that what we want most of all?

ejsei

I recommend Heath to fans of Wuthering Heights and unconventional romance

descriptionI had high expectations going into this book, so I am super bummed that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped. It wasn't a bad book by any means. The writing was very good. I am a huge fan of K Webster, but this was my first exposure to Nikki Ash. The book was seamlessly written for sure, and I couldn't tell you who wrote what parts. Unfortunately, the pace for the first 40% (part 1) of the book was too slow and bogged down with way too many sex scenes (and I can't even believe I am saying that). By 26% in I was already skimming them because I just wanted to get back to the meat of the story. We get ZERO details about what Heath was doing for the year he was gone. I wanted to know what happened to him. How he made his money, etc.

Also, just a heads up to anyone who likes their books "safe", this isn't going to be a book for you.

description

I also can't say that I liked any of the characters in the first part. Heath started off great, then his character lost its luster. Although in the second half, I DID find his over the top mustache-twirling villain behavior amusing at times. I wish there had been more scenes with "crazy" Heath in that part of the book. His character just kind of fell flat by the end. Catrina, on the other hand, was god awful from the start. She was vapid and self-centered. I am guessing they weren't really meant to be good people. However, Cat (the 2nd) was a much more likable character for sure. I also quite liked Harrison and Helen.

On the more positive side, I did like the Wuthering Heights tie-in, and the way the story stretched generations. I also liked the slight taboo elements. The second half of the book was much better than the first for sure. The sex was toned down a lot, and the story moved along at a better pace and was quite frankly a thousand times more interesting than part one.

description

Last, and this was just a silly thing that bothered me, but I was a little skeeved out by Granny Helen telling this 18-year-old girl this story complete with XXX sex descriptions. And then her own mother telling her about her sex life with the daughters father...*shiver* *lol*

In the end, this turned out to be the tale of two different books for me rating wise. Part one was a struggle to get through. There was way too much sex that took away from the story. The characters weren't likable in the least. I truthfully almost called it a day at that point as it was looking to be a 2-star read at best. I soldiered on though, and part two was much much better. The story took precedence over the sex. The characters themselves were much more likable. It just had an overall better feel to it, and if I was rating the book on part two alone, it would be a solid 4-star book. Alas, that isn't the case, so I am going to go with 3,5-stars as an overall rating.description

God where to even begin, like many before me I’m not going to write this review up in my normal way, this book is too intricate for that, you could even say that there’s three interwoven stories within this book, the first part god I couldn’t stand the heroine, self absorbed bitch, she chose money over happiness more times than I care to count, that part of the story nearly had me throwing my iPad but remembered in time how much it cost me. And does throw a twist into the story that I never for a minute saw coming. It changes the whole story!! And I mean the whole story!!

The second part is where all the angst, all the feels, and even more drama is thrown our way that wore me down and gave me whip lash. But I enjoyed this part of the story more so than the beginning. And still revenge beat away in the back ground.

And the third interwoven story is the here and now.

I don’t know what I just finished reading, but I want more.

Holy moly that was a rollercoaster of emotions. K Webster and Nikki Ash killed this one! You need this book in your life!! You need Heath in your life!

This was not like the fairytales we grew up on, it is not a happily ever after. Prince Charming does not come to rescue the girl.

What you will get is an inside look into very complex relationships. Not everything is as it seems. What you thought you knew, you didn’t really know. You will be guessing until the end. And even at the end you’re left with so many questions!

You will fall in love with characters to turn around and despise them. You will dislike characters to turn around and end up loving them. Seriously I feel like I need a chiropractor for my heart with all that emotional whiplash.

Heath.... this is his story. His love, his obsession, his revenge, his insanity. I’ve read jerks before, villains you end up loving, but Heath is a whole new level. I’m still stunned and shocked with him. My heart doesn’t know what to do at all. Even at the end we are left wondering why?

There were so many characters to fall in love. All their flaws made it such a raw and emotional read. To me one stands out. He did as soon as he was introduced. Harrison. To be born and raised in that hate and bitterness is no way of life. Yet he overcomes this and opens his heart fully to someone.

Harrison you stole my heart. I will keep you in my book boyfriend dungeon. Sorry to all the fandom. He’s mine!!

Go one click as soon as this is out!!! You’ll be sorry you didn’t.

Heath by K. Webster & Nikki Ash –

GENRE: Dark Romance
NARRATION: Multiple POV
BOOK DETAILS: Standalone

PUBLISHERS SUMMARY
From USA Today Bestselling author K Webster and Nikki Ash, comes a modern telling of a classic tale.

This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.

MY THOUGHTS:
What a great collaboration, Nikki and K Webster have successful intertwined their writing retelling a classic tale of Caterina and Heath with a modern twist.

This is not a feel good book, not a romance, It’s dark and gritty and shows us the ripple effect that hate and revenge can have on future generations within rivalling families.

Health and Caterina shared a love so powerful and so strong that it literally destroyed them both, sure greed and power played its part but in the end it was their love for one another that ruined them.

This was very well written adaptation, jumping from past to present throughout flawlessly. I felt I was on a journey with them all as the past unfolded and weaved itself into the future. A contrast between love and hate, light and darkness, sweet and sour this is a story that will take hold of you and captivate your attention, it will leave you thinking about it long after you have finished reading.

This is a story about a love so desperate, so strong, so devastating it destroyed their very souls.

MY RATINGS: (All ratings are out of 5)

Author: K. Webster & Nikki Ash
Genre: Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:

Heath and Catrina Crenshaw were childhood friends that came from two different worlds. Growing up together, they formed an unbreakable bond that set the fates of two families for generations to come.

“No, my love.” I kiss her sweet lips. “My revenge was never with you. It was always for you. I never wanted to ruin you. Just wanted to ruin the world around you so we were the only two left standing. The only two who mattered.”

Heath was a broody, hard to love character. So naturally I was attracted to him lol! I love that he’s a hard worker and built himself up from the bottom.

“I don’t care if you have ten husbands,” I snarl, hugging her tighter to me. “I’ll always find you. I’ll fuck you in their beds. I’ll make you mine over and over again. You know this.”

Catrina was the opposite of him in every way. I constantly questioned her motivations. I didn’t approve of her behavior but I did understand where she came from.

The sex scenes were plenty and scorching. Even better when they were paired with taboo elements that made them explosive.

It’s sad that love could breed so much hate.

While the basis of the story centered around the love and consequences between Heath and Catrina, the book also focused on several other characters. Each of them had a role in imparting the moral of the story.

Heath is a modern retelling of Wuthering Heights, a classic tale of love and obsession. It would appeal to readers looking for an unconventional romance.

“A man with an idle mind and time on his hands will create a cleverly dangerous agenda.

Omg this was insane!! I thought I knew exactly how this story was going to go, but boy was I wrong! It was intense, stab worthy, cruel, deliciously sexy, and downright passionate. Think you know how this story is going to end? Think again.

I don’t even know where to start on this one if I’m being honest. One minute I’m reading the epigraph, and the next thing I know, I’m 30% in and getting my alibi straight because these characters were going to make me catch a case!! 50% in, I’m emotional and frustrated, and 80% in, I was ready to call my Lawyer!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I’ve reviewed other books in the past and I’ve always tried my best to make my reviews very vague and completely spoiler free because the story itself needed to be experienced and not talked about. This is no different and if I’m being really honest, this requires more anonymity than anything I’ve read in a while. It was addictive, sensual, and you had no choice but to be wrapped up in the love madness.

I loved that this was completely different and the time span was exceptional. Some might not like that it was done this way, but trust me when I say that it was necessary. Everything fell into place, every character had a purpose, and the plot was done the way it was meant to.

If you’re still on the fence about whether you should read this book or not, don’t be. Take the plunge and just go right in because it’s worth it.

4.5 Stars

In this modern retelling of a literary classic, the story of Heath and Caterina is revealed and how their actions impact each other and future generations. From the beginning, Heath is a passionate and determined man ready to claim what he believes to be his in business and love. However, Caterina is a difficult woman with selfish tendencies and her decisions have lasting effects. Fueled by the need for vengeance and to sooth his darkened soul, Heath launches a campaign to ruin those who ever underestimated him.

“The door slams and my life ends in one horrible second. I will ruin them all. And then get my girl back.”

With Heath’s personality and deep desire dominating the storyline, it brings an added layer of tension to the past and present. Having such a stronghold on other characters, Heath is relentless and as the plot evolves to underscore the obsessive path of destruction, it also offers hope as others make certain choices.

“This brutal cage of a body imprisons my soul – a dark, heavy soul who only wants his other half.”

For me, Heath is such a memorable character with his tenacity, misguided love and vulnerability. His strength was also a weakness and thankfully the authors stayed true to his character arc. With Caterina, she too was conflicted and it affected all around her. As for the secondary characters, they all had a significant role, but especially Harrison and Cat. Sharing characteristics but quite different in their choices, the parallels of their path sheds light on the past and impacts the future.

Having not read the original book in which Heath is based, I had no expectations or knowledge of what could occur and that added to the overall plot tension. The collaborative effort between K Webster and Nikki Ash is seamless and their interpretation on this classic is a whirlwind offering a range of intense emotion and scorching chemistry.

Heath is an epic story about obsession and sacrifice. This book would appeal to those who enjoy an imperfect romance with dark twists.

Confession:

I had no clue which “classic tale” the authors were giving a modern twist too.

None.

All I cared about was that K Webster was putting more words out into the world for me to read and through it I’d be introduced to a new to me author.

So, I didn’t really dig too deep in attempting to figure anything out until it smacked me right in the face. And when it did...I had to pause and prepare because I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was going to be one hell of a rocky ride, and what a ride it was.

I waffled over stating which classic this is a retelling of, but have decided against it. So, if you know, you are way further ahead of the game than I was and I give you props. If you don’t and want a clue the authors released an excerpt...it may or may not have clues in it, but check out their FB like pages.

Now for the very vague and verbal vomity review of this book. This book totally sucked me in. I mean I tiptoed my way to the rabbit hole and fell in without realizing it and found that I didn’t want to leave. I needed to see the train wreck through to the very end and even though it was rough, and that is a huge understatement, it was absolutely worth it because even though I had issues with almost every character, I found them all absolutely fascinating. Love them, hate them, pity them...or not, this story is chock full of humanity at its very worst, very best and everything in between.

While there are quite a few characters that play essential parts in this dark and heartbreaking love story, Heath is very much the main focus and while I didn’t always like him,I couldn’t help but be drawn to him and have some sympathy for all that happened to him, even when he was his own worst enemy.

Anyways, I’m going to cut myself off because if I don’t this review will never end. So, the writing was engaging and seamlessly done and though this is a retelling, you could tell that the authors made it their own. This is, at its heart, a dark read, but there are moments of sweet and it helped to temper things a bit. Is there an HEA here? Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on how you choose to look at everything in the end, but it is a love story you won’t forget.

A twisted tale of burning love. So intense in heat that it incinerates hearts and bodies. Sets the world on fire. Blackens the soul and creates monsters. No Phoenix rising from the ashes here, after the world burns down, the survivors just go on with their lives searching for answers and trying to save their own lives
It's a modern day Wuthering Heights, although it's not quite just that, cause Kristi & Nikki in their super messed up intentions take it a step...or several steps further. And of course what would a Webster book be without forbidden "Daddy" trope !
A love that powerful and all-consuming is so rare, and it breaks my heart that it was wasted on a woman who took it for granted.

description

Heath is a man spurned due to his social and financial standing and that eats him up alive. His need for revenge becomes his sole reason for existence. His blood becomes poison. The one he spews and spreads everywhere, on everyone!
His love for her is his existence. His reason for being. His love for her dictates his every move. His every emotion.
It’s like his love for her became a beast. A beast hell-bent on destroying everything responsible for taking her away from him.

After completely destroying W Heights investments and stripping it's owners of power, prestige and wealth he turns towards their offsprings. This carries forward to the next generation which actually turns out to be smarter than him.
Cat is in crosshairs and she's the proverbial doe in a lion's den!

description

So young and innocent. It maddens me that she’s in the lion’s den. Succulent and mouthwatering. I know it will only be a matter of time before Heath tries to take a bite.
My problem was I've devoured, drank, read, re-read and watched movies in 3 languages based on the original classic Wuthering Heights. So inadvertantly my mind compared the two and it fell short!
This was a huge mistake on my part, because K and Nikki made it clear it was THEIR version.
So go ahead and enjoy the warped story of disfigured love that hurts more than it heals. At least in Heath's case!!

This book was just WOW. However, it’s more like three books.
We have the story of Heath, Caterina and Elliott. Followed by Harrison, Cat and Theo.
Finally, the story of Emily and Finn.

I found myself going from loving certain characters, to absolutely loathing them.
Heaths behaviour with Cat completely sickened my stomach, I was close to not reading on......so glad I did though.
Everything that happens in the story, happens for a reason. It’s all connected in the end.
Too write a story with so many characters, intertwined over years, is an unbelievable talent. I can’t praise these two authors enough!

Apparently it’s a modern twist on “Wuthering Heights”. I’m gonna shock you here......I’ve never read that! I am ashamed 😬
so this novel was all really new to me.

A well deserved 5***** from me.

Catrina is a selfish, self-centered bitch who swears to love Heath but leaves him for some dude with money. She loves Heath, but she can't live without the money, the power and the status. She loves Heath, but he was just a dirty fuck in her closet. 'If Heath really loved her, he wouldn't ask her to give up her lifestyle'. She 'loves' Heath, but she loves money more.

I can't form an option about the book. There is too much going on. You want to hate and love heath but can't decide which want to settle upon. I hated Catrina's character. If the story had been just Cat and harrison, I would have adored it but combing two generations of love story made this book a huge mess for me.

A Tragedy with a HEA

As a reader I try to express my love for the words in each story however with this book I am not eloquent enough to say how this book stole my spot for my top read for the year.

I feel I must warn whoever reads this book, you will hate a certain female lead to my eyes she had no redeeming qualities thankfully she is just a character in Heath's story, who some will not understand and others will love this is his story and in the end he broke my heart. Not giving you a spoiler just telling you there will be a HEA in the end so it is worth the journey this book takes us on.

Geez. This book... this book is... gah, I have no words. This book is something else. Something else in the “crazy, hot, good, mindfuck” sort of way...
It’s different from other books. It’s refreshing. I like finding “different books” because a lot of books are so similar in their tropes and storylines that they just all blend together.

I don’t want to spoil anything. This is really just a book you have to read... simple as that.

I do have to mention that I’m a fan of Nikki Ash but this was my first little taste of anything by K Webster. These two are magic together. I couldn’t tell who was writing what. They just flowed together. It was flawless. And I can’t wait to read a solo by K Webster.

*I should mention that I took off 1.5 stars due to a certain aspect of the book. I don’t like cheating. It’s a big no-no for me and I didn’t know going into this that it would have that soooo... that was a bit of shock/bummer for me. It did take me a bit to get past that...
I have never read Wuthering Heights so I don’t know if that’s in there or not... I have to be honest and say, I would’ve probably skipped this had I known there was cheating involved. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ohnn.. that blurb.. is it supposed to make intrigued? Or curious? Well.. it didn’t succeed.
But reading a review I was ROTFLMAO.. seriously people. I think this author is not shocking anyone if that’s her goal with her books.
I think she’s trying to get hired by the XVIDEOS. LOL
This plot surely rivals the worst of them. Can you imagine: comedy porn.
This reviewer is surely aggravated and disappointed, but her review made me BRAZENLY laugh 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

Ughhh...

Unfortunately... this book didn’t work for me at all. And it was kinda like a train wreck. I feel bad to even write that!
I’ll be honest here! I did not put two and two together.
If you’re a big fan of Wuthering Heights then this book is for you! I am not a fan of it. So this was a hard read for me.

I would say I was on board with this book up until the ring got put on Catrina’s finger by Elliot. After that. I would say it went down hill pretty fast for me.

So that was about 9% in. I absolutely don’t like the way this story was going. I wasn’t feeling Catrina at all. I was feeling Heath in the very beginning. But... as I read on my feelings for him slowly went away.

Just how everything played out. I wasn’t feeling it. I'm really into K. Webster's books! But this book just wasn't for me.

This book is very difficult to review. It’s a complex story. We’re given three different love story interwoven with each other over a period of time. Three generation of love.

The original Whuthering Heights isn’t a pretty reading and when it first came out was perceived as disturbing and morbid. Hats off to the Brönte sister for delivering such a forward and bold albeit sick work.
This rewriting is pretty faithful in giving us a crazy out of control Heath and an unbearable Catrina, although towards the end I felt sorry for Heath there was no such love for Catrina who was the only one to blame for the whole debacle.

I really enjoyed this rewriting and the turn the story takes for the next generations. I won’t say more as I don’t want to spoil the pleasure of reading this book.

I would totally recommend this reading and also the novel this is based on one of course.

4.5 stars!

"My revenge has been in the shadow of my lover. Lurking and waiting. Ever-present. A moving, throbbing entity just waiting to be fully unleashed. Time to be free, my beast of hate. Go forward and cause massive destruction in every single one of their lives."

Since Wuthering Heights is one of my all-time favorite classic reads, and because Emily Brontë is a personal hero of mine, I knew exactly what to expect going into this. And thank God for that, because this isn't a story where love triumphs over all. No, this is a story about how love turns into obsession, how obsession can morph into hate, and then how that hate can affect generations to come.

It's sad that love could breed so much hate.

This story is broken down into three parts: The convoluted story of Heath, Catrina, Elliot and Isabel, the tale of Harrison, Cat, and Theo, and the (short) story of Emily and Finn. I'll just put it out there that the middle generation has the best love story, but it's impossible to forget that it happens in the shadow of Heath and Catrina's all-encompassing love. Heath may be a sexy beast, but he's not a good person. That being said, Catrina might be even worse. I never doubted that Heath loved her more than anything, but I definitely doubted Catrina's ability to love him back in the same way. As a result, even though Heath becomes more and more deplorable, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him at times. Up until part two, I was cheering for him, but that changed quickly. And why wouldn't it? This is a story about how love can turn into poison. At one time, Heath loved purely, but the world bastardized it. His sin was trying to make innocent characters suffer. The ones that were responsible for that bastardization, well, I didn't blame him in the slightest for what he did. But when he passed that hatred onto the unknowing next generation? Yeah, he lost my vote then. Still, though... I understood him. I understood his life fueled by bitterness and revenge just as I did when he was fueled by love and obsession. Every story needs a villain, and while Heath may have been it, I couldn't help but think of how things could've been different had he loved someone worthy.

“My revenge was never with you. It was always for you. I never wanted to ruin you. Just wanted to ruin the world around you so we were the only two left standing. The only two who mattered.”

I don't want to say much more because this story is best experienced if you go in blind. Just be aware, while it's not pitch-black or anything, the initial characters are not very likable. If you can't handle this, hang in there, because just when you think everything has gone to shit, here comes a love worth cheering for. The cycle is finally broken and a few characters earn their redemption. And maybe, just maybe, the two that started it all will finally reunite where they always belonged...

Heath by K. Webster and Nikki Ash is one book that takes you in quick and for me it was a page turner. It did seem to boarder on the old story of Wuthering Heights in a new modern storyline. This may have certain trigger scene for some so please beware of that. I am such a fan of Ms. Webster that it was a must read for me. This was my first taste of Ms. Ash's writing but I will be looking for more books from her too. If you have read Ms. Webster's books before then you should enjoy this one.
