Malin Andersson Shares New Single ‘Reef’

Swedish songstress Malin Andersson has just shared her brand new single Reef, a stunning indie-folk/pop song that expresses concern at the environmental crisis, her own anxiety & humanity’s connection to nature.

Out now via Gunnel Records, Reef is the first single to be taken from Malin's upcoming album Space To Feel and it beautifully showcases her mellow, dreamy vocals that are nicely paired with a lush arrangement of ethereal guitars, double bass and textured strings. The idea behind Reef grew from concerns around the world’s environmental crisis & humanity’s elemental connection to nature. The song likens humanity’s direction of travel to a ship that’s sailed into a reef and now stuck, is trying to figure out how to re-establish some sort of balance, both collectively & individually. This is such a poetic and memorable listening experience with Malin Andersson's gorgeous vocals and ethereal guitars being my favourite elements. Reef is a super smooth song perfect for an introspective day home alone with ones thoughts and is accompanied by a music video, directed by Alex Simpson, that you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, Malin Andersson said,
Reef is the first in a collection of songs I’m writing about ‘high sensitivity’, deciding to no longer apologise for my own vulnerability whilst encouraging others to do the same. It’s a gift to be sensitive, use it & don’t hide it!
