Snow Panda
Date: January 2019
Location: National Zoo, Washington D.C.
More: It may come as no surprise that giant panda’s love snow, since they originate from cold areas at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level! But just how much they love snow may come as a surprise.
Since the giant panda doesn’t hibernate they have to make the best of the cold weather. In the wild, pandas will relocate to lower elevations where it’s warmer. Yes, just like us, they go on vacation! However, if they are stuck in the snow, like these guys, playing seems to be the best way to pass the time through the cold winter months.
So if you find yourself stuck in the snow this winter, make like a panda and just roll down a hill of snow.
